THE SKIN WHITENING LIFESTYLE

How to keep your lighter complexion

Beautiful, healthy, and naturally lighter skin is possible with our groundbreaking skin whitening products. In order to get the best results, however, you need to be aware that you are fighting against your genetics as well as daily sun exposure, so you need to be disciplined and consistent in your skin lightening regimen.

Here are a few tips and ideas for fast—and lasting—results:

1. Commit

Skin lightening should be treated like any skin care routine: it’s a daily commitment. Just as you wash your face and brush your teeth every day, you should also use Fair & Flawless products as often as directed, for as long as you want your beautiful, paler complexion.

2. Experiment

We recommend using and layering several products for best results, from both our Fair & Flawless and Skin Soho collections. Our pre-whitening products prepare your skin to absorb the nourishing and whitening ingredients in our creams and gels. Some of products are also rich, designed for drier skin, while others offer targeted whitening power. Experiment and see which works best for you skin type and tone over time.

3. Stay out of the sun

Melanin—the pigment that in your skin that gives it it’s color—is produced by your body to protect you from the sun. Darker skin means less UV rays are penetrating your skin, while lighter skin is more likely to burn. When you’re exposed to sunlight, your skin is stimulated and produces melanin, making your skin darker.

When using Fair & Flawless products, it’s important to stay out of direct sunlight as much possible. Wear clothes that protect you from the sun—long sleeves, a hat, and so on. Slather on the sunscreen, and don’t be stingy! Be especially wary around beaches and water, which reflect sunlight upward and double your exposure.

4. Eat a healthy diet

There isn’t a product on the market today that has a more powerful effect on your skin than a healthy diet. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, and stay away from excess alcohol, artificial sweeteners, and highly processed foods. These are likely to cause inflammation, which result in breakouts, acne, spots and rashes.

Foods that help your skin stay supple and strong include fruits and vegetables that are very bright in color, which means that they are rich in natural nutrients that fight signs of aging and keep you hydrated. Protein from wild fish or free-range chicken gives your skin the necessary building-blocks for elasticity. And some fats, particularly olive oil, avocado oil, and nuts, can help keep your skin glowing. Be sure to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, too.

5. Get both exercise and rest

Exercise is key to any health regimen, including skin beauty. Boosting circulation with cardio workouts helps to carry essential nutrients to your skin and carry away waste products. At the same time, getting enough sleep is important to rest and rejuvenate skin cells, and will particularly help with dark circles under the eyes.
